Made in Bangladesh Mitsubishi Xpander launched

Rancon Auto Industries has officially rolled out the locally manufactured Mitsubishi Xpander, a seven-seater family SUV powered by a 1.5L MIVEC engine, marking a significant step in Bangladesh’s automotive industry.

The Mitsubishi Xpander is now being produced entirely at the 52-acre RANCON Industrial Park in Gazipur. This facility also hosts assembly lines for renowned global brands like Suzuki, Proton, JAC, Mercedes-Benz bus chassis, LG, and Toshiba.

Takao Kato, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, expressed optimism about the venture, stating, “This is just the beginning of a promising journey. Designed specifically for ASEAN markets and equipped with Dual AC, the Xpander has already seen strong demand across the region. Bangladesh has a proven manufacturing track record, and with RANCON, we aim to deliver reliability and excellence with the locally built Xpander.”

Highlighting the company’s long-standing association with Mitsubishi, Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Group Managing Director of RANCON, said, “For over 50 years, we’ve proudly represented Mitsubishi in Bangladesh. We‍‍`ve established top-tier assembly lines, a state-of-the-art paint shop, and a skilled workforce trained by Japanese experts. Every Xpander comes with a 5-year warranty and 2 years of free servicing. With 11 after-sales service centers nationwide, we‍‍`re committed to delivering safety, quality, and value to Bangladeshi customers.”
