The government has declared April 3 (Wednesday) as a public holiday through an executive order to facilitate a smooth journey for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Advisory Council today (Wednesday).
With this announcement, the official Eid holiday will now extend from March 28 to April 3.
Additionally, March 28 is a public holiday for Shab-e-Qadr, which falls on a Friday—a weekend in Bangladesh. Earlier, March 26 is a public holiday for Independence Day, making March 27 the only working day before the extended Eid holiday.
Offices will resume operations on April 6 (Sunday), as April 4 and 5 are regular weekend holidays.
