BRAC is supporting young innovators to help transform their ideas and social enterprises into sustainable ventures. Through its Youth Platform, BRAC has launched the “Amra Notun Young Social Entrepreneur Fellowship Program.” Under this fellowship, three selected innovative initiatives have received seed funding. Each initiative has been awarded a minimum of Tk 3 lakh.
The Letter of Agreement for the fellowship was signed on Thursday, April 16, at the BRAC Centre in Mohakhali, Dhaka. BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh handed over symbolic cheques to the young entrepreneurs as recognition of their fellowship. During the event, Asif Saleh listened to the fellows and provided guidance on various aspects of their ventures. Shariful Hasan, Associate Director of BRAC’s Migration Programme and Youth Platform, was also present.
This year, the fellowship includes three winning teams from the “Amra Notun Young Changemakers Award 2025”—Stories of Inclusion, Jolshikha, and Guddu Toys. Among them, Stories of Inclusion is creating audiobooks for children with disabilities; Jolshikha is producing environmentally friendly charcoal from coconut shells; and Guddu Toys is developing educational toys for children. These initiatives are contributing to creativity, positive social change, and the development of local communities.
Representing the fellowship winners, Musarrat Jahan Esha, Maria Jahan Riva, and Hasibul Hasan presented their projects, future plans, and aspirations.
It was shared at the event that the fellowship program will serve as an integrated platform for young entrepreneurs. It will provide classroom-based skill development training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and seed funding to support them as social entrepreneurs. Additionally, as part of the skill development component, participants will have opportunities for industry visits, where they can directly exchange experiences with established entrepreneurs.
The BRAC Youth Platform believes that such initiatives will encourage young people to take leadership roles in driving social change and play a vital role in building an inclusive and sustainable society
