Govt, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro to work together to promote reading among students

In a collaborative effort to cultivate a culture of literature and learning among the youth, the government is set to work jointly with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro to promote reading habits across schools in the country.The initiative was discussed and finalized during a meeting between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, the renowned founder of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro. The meeting took place at the Secretariat this afternoon.According to the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Ruman, the core of the discussion revolved around effective ways to encourage students to step away from their regular curriculum and develop a genuine, lifelong habit of reading books.

Key Highlights of the Initiative:

• Joint Collaboration: The government will officially partner with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro to design and promote these reading programs.
• Comprehensive Reach: The reading initiative will not be limited to a single age group; rather, it will be comprehensively carried out across the primary, secondary, and higher secondary educational levels.

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, was also present during the meeting.
