At least 38 Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Friday as Israeli airstrikes and gunfire hit multiple areas during Eid al-Adha, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency. This marks the second consecutive year that Palestinians have observed the holiday under the shadow of war.
Civil defence official Mohammed al-Mughayyir told AFP that the casualties occurred in various locations throughout the day, with 11 people killed in a single strike on Jabalia, located in northern Gaza.
The ongoing conflict has continued to overshadow major religious occasions, with families forced to mourn loved ones instead of celebrating.
