Deepika Padukone becomes first Indian actress to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Bollywood icon Deepika Padukone has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Indian actress to be honoured with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has been selected as part of the Walk of Fame Class of 2026 in the Motion Pictures category.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the list during a live broadcast, revealing 35 names from the worlds of film, television, music, theatre, and sports. Deepika joins an illustrious group of global talents, including Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Demi Moore, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci.

The announcement was made by existing Walk of Fame honourees Eugenio Derbez and Richard Blade. The 2026 honouree list also features prominent figures such as Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Noah Wyle, Shaquille O’Neal, and television anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. Posthumous stars will be awarded to legendary figures like special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi and director Tony Scott.

Deepika made her Hollywood debut in 2017 with the action film xXx: Return of Xander Cage, co-starring Vin Diesel. Since then, she has consistently made her mark on both Indian and global cinema.

On the personal front, Deepika and husband Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, on September 8, 2024. The couple introduced her to the world during Diwali celebrations, sharing, “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers.”

Professionally, Deepika was last seen in the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. The film was a pan-India blockbuster, and she is expected to reprise her role in the upcoming sequel. She is also set to star opposite Allu Arjun in director Atlee’s highly anticipated project, tentatively titled AA22xA6.

With this honour, Deepika Padukone continues to break boundaries and elevate Indian cinema on the global stage.
