A Dhaka court has issued a travel ban on national cricketer Shakib Al Hasan along with 14 others, in connection with allegations of corruption, embezzlement, and accumulation of illegal wealth through suspicious stock market investments.
The order was passed on Sunday (16 June) by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib, following a petition submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Those included in the travel ban, alongside Shakib, are: Department of Cooperatives Deputy Registrar Md Abul Khair, Kazi Sadia Hasan, Abul Kalam Madbor, Kanika Afroze, Mohammad Bashar, Sajed Madbor, Aleya Begum, Kazi Fuad Hasan, Kazi Farid Hasan, Shirin Akhter, Javed A Matin, Md Zahed Kamal, Md Humayun Kabir, and Tanvir Nizam.
The court`s decision comes amid an ongoing ACC investigation into financial irregularities involving stock market dealings and undisclosed wealth accumulation.
