All new Facebook videos to be classified as Reels soon

Meta has announced a major update to how videos are shared on Facebook: all newly uploaded videos will now be classified as Reels, regardless of their length or format. This move aims to streamline video publishing and bring consistency across content types.

With this change, Facebook Reels will no longer have restrictions on duration or format. Whether it’s a short clip, a long-form video, or a live stream, all will fall under the Reels category. Existing videos already uploaded will remain unchanged, but any new videos added after the update will be automatically treated as Reels.

In line with this update, Facebook‍‍`s "Video" tab will be renamed to the "Reels" tab. Additionally, users will be prompted to review and confirm their audience settings, especially if their feed posts and Reels have different visibility preferences.

Meta also noted that users will gain access to more creative tools with this rollout. The global implementation will be gradual, affecting both personal profiles and pages over the coming months.
