Erling Haaland reaches 300 goals faster than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Erling Haaland has added another remarkable milestone to his career, netting his 300th goal during Manchester City’s dominant 5-2 win over Juventus at the FIFA Club World Cup on Thursday.

The Norwegian striker reached the 300-goal mark in just 370 professional appearances-outpacing football greats such as Kylian Mbappé (409 games), Lionel Messi (418), and Cristiano Ronaldo (554). Haaland’s landmark goal came in the 52nd minute at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, when he tapped in a close-range effort from a Matheus Nunes cross.

Though not the cleanest of finishes-ricocheting off both legs before crossing the line-the goal marked his 33rd of the season and further cemented his reputation as one of football‍‍`s most prolific forwards.

City manager Pep Guardiola praised the 24-year-old, saying, “All I can say is congratulations-scoring 300 goals at 24 years old is quite something. I’m really happy for Erling.”

The game also saw goals from Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden, Savinho, and an own goal by Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu. On the other end, City conceded twice but remained firmly in control throughout.

In a further boost for City, midfielder Rodri returned to the starting XI for the first time since tearing his ACL last September. The reigning Ballon d’Or winner played 65 minutes before being subbed off. Guardiola called his return crucial, stating, “He’s the best player in the world. We missed him dearly.”

With this result, Manchester City tops their group at the Club World Cup with a perfect record and will face Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal in the last 16 on Tuesday in Orlando.
