The Bangladesh national cricket team’s prolonged struggles in ODIs have been reflected in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, published on Monday, as the Tigers slipped to 10th after losing four rating points.
However, Bangladesh retained their ninth position in both the Test and T20I rankings.
The updated rankings are based on team performances over the past three years, with results from the most recent 12 months given greater weight.
Bangladesh played eight ODIs in the last year but managed just a single win, contributing to their fall in the table.
Meanwhile, West Indies — previously ranked 10th — climbed one spot after winning six of their nine ODIs during the same period. England also dropped four rating points and fell to eighth, allowing Afghanistan to move up to seventh.
India and New Zealand, the finalists of the last ICC Champions Trophy, maintained their positions at the top of the ODI rankings. Australia and Sri Lanka occupy third and fourth respectively, while Pakistan and South Africa sit fifth and sixth.
Despite winning four Test matches in the past 12 months, Bangladesh remain ninth in the format, trailing eighth-placed West Indies by eight rating points.
In T20Is, the Tigers held on to their ninth position, holding a two-point lead over Afghanistan and sitting three points behind Pakistan.
