Actor and model Shefali Jariwala, widely recognised for her appearance in the iconic song Kaanta Laga, has passed away at the age of 42. While initial reports suggested a cardiac arrest, Mumbai Police have confirmed that the exact cause of her death is still under investigation.
Shefali was reportedly found unresponsive at her residence in Andheri, Mumbai. She was rushed to Bellevue Hospital around 1 am on Saturday by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and three others. According to hospital staff, she had already passed away by the time she arrived.
Mumbai Police stated that her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for a postmortem examination. A police team, along with forensic experts, visited her residence as part of the ongoing investigation.
Shefali`s husband Parag Tyagi was seen exiting the hospital visibly distressed, as captured in videos circulating online.
The news of her untimely death was first shared by journalist Vickey Lalwani on social media, sparking an outpouring of grief from fans and peers in the entertainment industry.
Shefali shot to fame at the age of 20 with the release of Kaanta Laga, and later appeared in several music videos and films. She was also a participant in popular reality shows such as Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye seasons 5 and 7, where she appeared alongside Parag.
She was previously married to Harmeet Singh from 2004 until their divorce in 2009. In 2015, she married Parag Tyagi.
Her sudden demise has left fans and colleagues in shock, with many remembering her as a vibrant performer and beloved personality in the Indian entertainment scene.
